What is lash extension?
Lash extension is a technique in which silk, mink, synthetic hair or human hair are added to the individual lashes to enhance the length and thickness giving an overall appearance of fuller lashes. Lash extensions can also be used to reshape and balance asymmetric eyes.
Do lash extensions damage your natural lashes?
The biggest myth is that lash extensions damage the natural lashes - they do not. If applied correctly, they are safe and do not ruin the health of your natural lashes. Take extra caution to not rub, tug or pull on the extensions because this can cause lash loss and even damage to the lash follicles.
How long do they last?
Depending on aftercare, lash extensions can last anywhere between 1-2 months. Refills between 2-3 weeks are recommended.
Aftercare instructions:
- Do not use any oily products/makeup
- Do not wear waterproof makeup
- Clean lashes daily with an oil free cleanser
- Do not sleep on your stomach
- Do not rub, tug, or pull on lashes
- Brush frequently - midway to tips
- Stay away from excessive heat such as saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzis, etc.
