Am I a candidate for lip blush if I have dark lips?

Yes, however, this may require more than the standard two sessions. During the first session, a color correction will be performed to cancel out the dark tones - not doing this may result in darkening the lips further or having no results at all. Once healed, most if not all of the darkness in your lips should be neutralized to a nude-pink tone. After 6 weeks from the initial session, you will return for the second session to apply the target color and a third, if needed.

How long does lip blush last?

Depending on age, skin, and lifestyle, lip tattoos can last between 2-5 years.

Is it painful?

The treatment can be a little uncomfortable for those who are more sensitive. However, there is an anesthetic applied before and during the procedure to keep this to a minimum.

Is lip blush right for me? No, if:

• Pregnant
• Breastfeeding (treatment is possible, though without anesthetic)
• Tendency to keloid
• Diabetic
• Taking blood thinning medication
• Currently on Accutane or other strong retinoids (must wait until 6 months after treatment ends)
• If any skin diseases symptoms or irritation appears on the area
• You've recently had lip fillers (must wait 4 weeks before and after)

Is there anything I need to do to prepare for the service?

• Do not drink coffee, alcohol or energy drinks on the day of treatment.
• Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen 24 hours before treatment.
• Do not take omega3 (fish oil) 1 week before treatment.
• Do not tan or sunbathe 30 days before treatment.
• No waxing 2-3 days before treatment.
• No chemical peels, dermabrasion, laser or any other intense treatments which causes faster cell rejuvenation and skin irritation 3-4 weeks before treatment.

Is there any after-procedure care?

• Wash treated area gently 2-3 times a day. Before showering, apply a layer of post-care cream to protect your eyebrows from moisture and cover with saran wrap. During the shower keep your face away from the shower head as to avoid excessive water. Itching and flaking may appear during the first few days post treatment.
• Avoid activities that may cause increased sweating such as exercising, saunas, hot bath or jacuzzi, tanning, etc.
• Avoid any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycol Acid on the face or neck.
• Avoid Picking, peeling or scratching of the pigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment.
• Apply post-care ointment for at least 7 days after the treatment.
• For long-term care, daily application of lip balm with SPF is recommended. Sun exposure can cause the color pigment to fade more quickly.
