What is ombré powder?
The latest method in semi-permanent makeup, ombré tattooing is another form of depositing pigment underneath the epidermis to enhance the appearance of the brows. Unlike microblading, however, ombré is done with a machine. The result is a gradient effect that will heal to a soft powdery finish for a soft filled-in look.
How long do the results last?
Depending on your skin type and aftercare, the pigment can last anywhere between 1-2 years.
Is ombré powder tattooing painful?
The treatment can be a little uncomfortable for those who are more sensitive. However, there is an anesthetic applied before and during the procedure to keep this to a minimum.
Is ombré powder tattoo right for me? No, if:
• Pregnant
• Breastfeeding (treatment is possible, though without anesthetic)
• Tendency to keloid, or over keloids, birthmarks or moles in the eyebrow area
• Diabetic
• Serious diseases such as cancer, epilepsy, autoimmune disorders (doctor's note required)
• Circulatory disorders (doctor's note required)
• Any bleeding disorders (doctor's note required)
• Taking blood thinning medication
• Currently on Accutane or other strong retinoids (must wait until 6 months after treatment ends)
• If any skin diseases symptoms or irritation appears on the area
• You've recently had Botox or Dysport treatment (must wait 2 months)
• You have a broken capillary in the eyebrows area
Is there anything I need to do to prepare for the service?
• Do not drink coffee, alcohol or energy drinks on the day of treatment.
• Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen 24 hours before treatment.
• Do not take omega3 (fish oil) 1 week before treatment.
• Do not tan or sunbathe 30 days before treatment.
• No waxing 2-3 days before treatment.
• No chemical peels, dermabrasion, laser or any other intense treatments which causes faster cell rejuvenation and skin irritation 3-4 weeks before treatment.
What can I expect during the service?
Before the appointment begins, the artist will provide a quick consultation to discuss expectations and results of the treatment.
The artist then draws on the eyebrow shape. Brows are measured perfectly to complement your unique face shape and size.
Next, the artist applies an anesthetic cream.
Initial strokes are placed and the procedure begins.
Pigment is worked into each stroke to define the brow.
After, a pigment mask is left to absorb into the skin.
Once that's finished, the artist cleans the area thoroughly.
After the service, the artist will apply an ointment that will remain on the skin for 12-24 hours.
Is there any after-procedure care?
• Wash treated area gently 2-3 times a day. Before showering, apply a layer of post-care cream to protect your eyebrows from moisture and cover with saran wrap. During the shower keep your face away from the shower head as to avoid excessive water. Itching and flaking may appear during the first 7 days post treatment.
• Avoid activities that may cause increased sweating such as exercising, saunas, hot bath or jacuzzi, tanning, etc.
• Avoid any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycol Acid on the face or neck.
• Avoid Picking, peeling or scratching of the pigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment.
• Avoid touching of the eyebrow area except for when rinsing and applying the post-care cream with a cotton swab.
• Once completely healed, always apply a sunscreen of at least SPF 30 on your eyebrows when exposed to the sun. Sun exposure might cause the color pigment to fade away more quickly.
